My oldest hen that I rescued a few years back started showing symptoms of water belly this week (aka Ascites) and I knew I needed to step in to give her some relief because she was having trouble breathing.🙁 Unfortunately with water belly there is no cure, and it’s a symptom of heart failure, but draining the abdomen can give the bird some major relief and allow them to breathe easier.👍🏻 Now draining a chicken is something I’ve never done and it was scary, but sometimes when you own chickens

Our broody hens show many signs that they want to enter the journey of motherhood but the eggs stealing is our favorite. 🌿 When a hen shows this sign of being broody she acts like she rules the roost and slyly rolls eggs away from the other hens as they lay them.
